A Few Things

I am writing this blog post, I think, to avoid writing a response for my South Asian Literature class. I might just be the least eloquent person in my class. Certainly, I am in the bottom 10%. Half of it is comprised of graduate students in the Literary and Cultural Studies program who, even if they do not know how to pronounce most of the Bengali terms (and neither do I), sound really, really and probably are really, really smart. I feel so deprived of cool and engaging things to say. I am really enjoying the literature thus far though, so much in fact that my feeling of shame is overcome by my desire to learn more.

Another thing that is hard is a long-distance (roughly 2,500 miles) relationship. Sometimes, like tonight, for me, you almost…I almost don’t even want to talk to him because I would so much rather just seeee him. It’s stupid, isn’t it?

A few more quick notes before I leave.

* yoga stretches and strengthens muscles, but i still need to start running again
* i can’t wait for the feist (with rogue wave!) concert tomorrow night
* i’m already a slacker in half my classes
* i love cran-raspberry juice (two glass IKEA cups are stacked to the right of my laptop with about a half-inch of cran-raspberry juice, the bits I could not seem to get in my final sip.

My work here is done. Shoot, I have to get my clothes out of the dryer!! Do you know what is a therapeutic activity? Folding warm laundry in solitude in my basement that once unmistakably, but now only slightly, smells of human urination.
